Here’s how Amazon’s Popular Logo ushered success to the brand

From an online book store to a giant platform- selling almost everything, Amazon unfurled itself to be the most successful brand. Today its net worth is over $150 billion. Find out the most enthralling story behind the success of this reputed brand.

After several years of progression, today, Amazon is the most successful e-commerce platform giving hard competition to several other brands. Over the years, we have also witnessed how Amazon has been continuously experimenting with its logos. This is because Amazon’s owner believes, the success of a business sprawls in its engaging logo.

The very first logo design was created in the year 1994, featuring letter A with a river-style shape in the centre, with a tagline “Earth’s biggest bookstore”, clearly expounding its mission.

However, the design didn’t receive many appreciations, rather it was criticized.

It was crafted in an era when digitalization had just started and there was also a dearth of good quality tools in the market, resulting in inferior design.

Soon, the brand started experimenting with its emblem and tried giving a chic look to the design.

In 1997, they redesigned their logo by removing the tagline. They included the company’s website name only. e. Amazon.com. The entire design was re-created in black colour with a white background.

Even the second logo was not dazzling enough to reflect the real value of the business.

After another year in 1998, the company redesigned the logo entirely from scratch and only added the company’s website name, i.e., “Amazon.com”, using only upper case letters and zooming the letter “O” of the word “Amazon” with a bright golden yellow colour ring.

Again this design was modified further in the same year, by replacing the upper case letters with lower-case and an orange curved line at the bottom. Although the curved line didn’t look like a smile, like the way it is unveiled in the existing logo, surely gave an amiable look, symbolizing the company’s success.

In 2000, Amazon revealed another new emblem, replacing the previous one, which was widely accepted by audiences. The new design symbolized a smile with a curvy arrow, starting from the letter “a” to the letter “z”. It surely gave a professional look to the design, reflecting the company’s growth and prospects.

Finally, in 2012, the design underwent another significant change. As the company started unfurling its operation beyond the digital world, the “.com” part, was detached from the emblem.

An epilogue
Today, the logo of Amazon says it all for the business. Even without holding the brand name, the company can push forward its products and services, only by using the logo.
Many brands fail to understand the importance of a good logo. To them, a logo is a mere piece of art that includes- shapes, texts and colours, and that’s why they fail miserably. But thankfully, Amazon never failed to realize the purpose of a good emblem, and that is the reason why they continued redesigning it, till the time they could design an impeccable logo.[:kr]From an online book store to a giant platform- selling almost everything, Amazon unfurled itself to be the most successful brand.
